Suffer from Shin Splints?

June 16, 2016

Suffer from shin splints? Shin splints are the pain you feel in the front of the lower leg due to excessive forces and pulling on the shin bone. For many people, when their muscles in the upper thigh become weak from sitting all day, other muscles in the shin start to overwork to compensate. Bringing the leg forward becomes compromised while running so the body forces the ankle to lift up even higher therefore putting excessive forces on your shin bone which causes the pain known as shin splints! At New Haven Chiropractic & Sports Rehabilitation we break up the scar tissue formed within the shin muscles and activate the muscles in your thigh to get you running again pain free!
