Whether you’re a runner whose season is coming into full swing, a weekend warrior getting ready for their next conquest, or an average joe enjoying the warm weather there’s a chance you may experience a pain on the bottom of your foot over the course of the next few weeks. That pain, commonly referred to as plantar fasciitis, is often caused by an increase in activity levels, improper footwear, or faulty biomechanics. Even if pain is not experienced the stiffness within the soft tissue and fascia on the bottom of your foot will cause tightness all the way up the back of your leg which can affect your back and even your neck. How you do you know if you have it? Use a golf ball or frozen water bottle to roll your foot over. Is it tender? That might be early signs of plantar fasciitis. At New Haven Chiropractic & Sports Rehabilitation we loosen up the stiff soft tissue on the bottom of your foot as well as analyze your biomechanics and help correct the issue so that you can enjoy your summer pain free!
